An IV “push” or “bolus” is a rapid injection of medication. A syringe is inserted into your catheter to quickly send a one-time dose of the drug into your bloodstream. The medication is not included in price. All other medical consumables are provided.

About

Intravenous therapy (IV) is a therapy that delivers fluids directly into a vein. The intravenous route of administration can be used for injections (with a syringe at higher pressures) or infusions (typically using only the pressure supplied by gravity). Intravenous infusions are commonly referred to as drips. The intravenous route is the fastest way to deliver medications and fluid replacement throughout the body because the circulation carries them. Intravenous therapy may be used for fluid replacement (such as correcting dehydration), to correct electrolyte imbalances, to deliver medications, and for blood transfusions.

Preparation

No special preparation required. Our medic will contact you to discuss your prescription and medication supply. Medicines for IV injection are not included in the price for service.

Requirements

To get this service you will need to provide us with your doctor's note or discharge summary, and consent to contact your doctor. It is essential to provide a safe care service. Specific medical supplies, including medications are not included in the price.
