Dr Ali Ghoz (Prof)

Intense training in surgery and strokes preceded Dr (Prof) Ghoz’s membership in the Royal College of Surgeons of both England and Edinburgh. At the coalface of trauma and orthopaedic subspecialties, including upper and lower limb surgeries, spinal traumas, and paediatric surgery, he stepped into high-demand spaces where patients depended on him for their well-being, mobility and zest for life. His enviable USP in hips and knees further developed during a fellowship in lower limb surgery, and securing his FRSC (Orth) and CCT preceded another prestigious fellowship involving deeper dives into arthropathy and soft-tissue reconstruction. Time at the Prince of Wales and Mater hospitals in Australia was formative, bolstering his orthopaedic and paediatric expertise. Consultancy work took him to Cambridgeshire, to responsibilities as the first on call at a trauma centre, and to the NHS and private practice. His guiding principles are informed by patients whose medical care is transformed by personalised attention.

Dr Michael Heinin, PhD, Professor

Professor Michael Henein, a distinguished faculty member at Umeå University, is a prominent figure in the field of cardiology. With foundational training at the University of the Philippines and advanced research at the Academy of Medicine Singapore, his expertise spans coronary calcification, heart failure, and valvular heart disease. Notably, he has contributed to the advancement of Doppler echocardiography in heart failure and valvular heart disease. Professor Henein’s career includes a significant tenure at Imperial College London and leading the Echocardiography Department at the Royal Brompton Hospital. His current research projects at Umeå University focus on coronary calcification and heart failure. An author of over 350 peer-reviewed papers and several textbooks, he is also the Founder and Editor in Chief of the International Cardiovascular Forum Journal. Professor Henein’s dedication to cardiology education and research has made a substantial impact in the field, with numerous PhD students under his tutelage now holding key positions worldwide.

Dr Helal Attayee

Dr Helal Attayee, an alumnus of Erciyes University in Turkey and holder of an ongoing Master’s in Cardiology and Stroke from at the University of Hertfordshire, UK, is a dedicated member of the UK’s healthcare community. Serving as a Family Medicine Consultant/GP, he specializes in family medicine, delivering compassionate care to a diverse patient group ranging from infants as young as six weeks to adults. His journey in the UK healthcare system, beginning in 2015, includes significant roles in Emergency, Acute Medicine, Care of elderly, Paediatric, Cardiology and Stroke medicine. He is fluent in English, Turkish, and Persian. Dr Attayee’s linguistic skills significantly enhance patient communication.
