Mr Parag Sayal

Mr Parag Sayal is a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Clinical Lead at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, University College London NHS Foundation Trust. He specialises in complex spinal surgery, minimally invasive and robotic-assisted spinal surgery, endoscopic skull base surgery, and the treatment of spinal fluid (CSF) leaks. His expertise includes surgery for degenerative spinal conditions, spinal deformity, spinal tumours, fractures, infections, and complex conditions such as Tarlov cysts, syringomyelia, craniovertebral junction disorders, and vascular malformations. He is also a recognised specialist in the investigation and surgical repair of complex CSF leaks and is a member of the UK working group developing national CSF leak guidelines.  Having performed over 1,500 neurosurgical procedures, he combines extensive surgical experience with an active role in research, education, and innovation. He has published more than 60 research abstracts, is an invited speaker at international neurosurgical meetings, and plays a key role in training senior spinal fellows and junior doctors while delivering lectures at University College London.
