Dr Zaynab Jawad is a Consultant General and Emergency Surgeon with specialist interests in benign upper gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions and minimally invasive surgery. She has particular expertise in hernia surgery, including epigastric, inguinal, paraumbilical and umbilical hernia repair, as well as gallbladder and laparoscopic surgery. She is also a JAG-accredited upper GI endoscopist.
Dr Jawad completed her medical training with distinction at the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London before undertaking higher surgical training in the North West Thames Deanery, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2019. She has developed extensive experience in the management of complex upper gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions through her training at leading centres including the Royal Marsden and Hammersmith Hospital.
